Fix the Machine. Then Scale the Dream.

Fix the Machine. Then Scale the Dream.

If entrepreneurship is a horse race, then StridePreneur is for all the jockeys who blasted out of the starting gate like a bat out of hell—riding high on hope, dreams, and the fire of financial freedom.

You were probably a technician. Great at what you did. And one day, maybe after too many late nights or one too many lousy bosses, you said:

“Why am I doing this for someone else? I should be doing this for myself.” (A moment straight out of Michael Gerber’s The E-Myth.)

That was your starting gate moment.

You sat there, wrestling with fear, doubt, and nervous energy. Then one day—boom—the gate opened. And you were off!

Passion and excitement get most people down the opening stretch. Even around the first turn.

But somewhere between turn one and turn two...
Things get complicated.

What started as a dream can start to feel like a trap.

You're still great at the doing part. But suddenly you’re managing people, handling cash flow, wrestling with marketing, juggling logistics—just trying to keep the business from swallowing your life.

Vacations? Laughable.
Sleep? Scarce.
Freedom? A fading memory.

StridePreneur is for everyone rounding that second turn—struggling to break through barriers and finally hit their stride.

Because here’s the truth:

When you can comfortably step away from your business and it doesn’t collapse, you don’t just own a scalable business...
You own a sellable one.

Our mission is to help you get there.

THE SYSTEM GAP

So what’s the problem?

Most entrepreneurs hit a wall because they never learned how to build systems.

Not sexy.
Not shiny.
But absolutely essential.

"Systems are what let your business grow beyond you."

That’s not just a quote. That’s been my reality.

For me, it was always a tug-of-war between what I knew I should do… and what I actually did. Because despite what the gurus say, systems aren’t “set it and forget it.”

They’re: Set it. Use it. Break it. Fix it. Improve it. Repeat. Just ask David Jenyns, author of SYSTEMology:

“Even the best systems require revisiting and refinement.”

That’s why I created something years ago that I still use today:

The Project Flight Control Board.

It’s simple. Five columns:

  • Waiting for Takeoff
  • In Flight
  • Trouble Aboard
  • Prepare for Landing
  • Landed Safely

Each project gets a sticky note. As days and weeks progress, those notes glide from column to column—giving a clear, visual snapshot of momentum.

I first built it when I was an advance concert promoter for Up With People.

Every morning, I’d huddle with our city promotion team—usually two to five people. We’d assign roles and then head out into the community.

One was finding host families. Another was planning transportation and logistics for a cast of 100 performers. Someone else was managing local partnerships and community events.

Me? I was the team leader—focused on advertising the show, working with media outlets, managing promotion, and serving as the point of contact for our sponsors.

At the end of the day, I’d return to our office and scan that board like a flight controller.

If any sticky had moved into “Trouble Aboard,” I’d know where the issue was—and who needed support—before anyone even had to say a word.

• It built rhythm.
• It built trust.
• It created wins.
• And it still works today.

My wife and I use one in our home. We call it:

The Brin Murphy Global Express

Because every business journey needs a safe landing.

NOTE: A few years ago, I read Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte.
It completely changed how I organize ideas and run my day.
BASB is a simple, powerful system for sorting the massive web of information constantly flowing through your head—and I’ll be sharing my experience with it in a future post.

BACK TO YOU

If you’re coming around that second turn right now and feeling stuck—
There’s no shame in it.

We get in our own way.
Life gets in the way.
And without systems, things break.

But here’s the good news:

You can fix the machine.
And you can scale the dream.

You don’t need perfect systems.
You just need ones that work for you.

That’s why I’m here.
That’s why Systematic Seth is part of the STRIDE Squad.

Let’s get those sticky notes moving.
Let’s land some wins.
And let’s hit your stride, preneur.
